Colombian Mocha

Coffee and chocolate just go so well together! If you love chocolate and you love coffee chances are one of your favourite drinks is a mocha. If so, we have the perfect recipe for you to try at home.

You may have already heard of Willie’s Supreme Cacaos. He’s the man with the tv documentary series on an obsession to source, roast and produce the finest chocolate using the finest cacao beans on the planet. Lots of parallels can be drawn between Willie’s one man mission to improve the quality of chocolate and Newbeans’ desire to bring artisan coffees to homes all over the world. If you haven’t heard of Willie and his mission you can find out more here. But basically it’s damn fine chocolate. 100% Cacao. He has many varieties of cacao in his range but the one we’re interested in is the Colombian Black and that’s because it’s the perfect accompaniment to Newbeans Colombian Coffee. The coffee, being smooth and mellow in its flavours, with nutty hints and chocolate overtones is the perfect compliment to this specialty chocolate, with its rich, dark flavours of subtle spice and blackcurrant. you will need;
>Newbeans colombian coffee finely ground for espresso
>Willie’s Supreme Cacao in Colombian Black
>Milk
>Cream
>Demerara sugar to taste
method;
combine one cup of milk, a dash of heavy cream and slowly heat in a pan, do not bring to the boil. add a generous chunk of cacao and sugar to taste. whisk gently until the mixture is smooth and creamy and hot enough for your preference. prepare your espresso base. pour the milky chocolate over the top. grate some more chocolate to decorate and enjoy!
